Kindly introduce yourself and what you do.
I’m Emmanuel O Eboh, a software engineer and a documentation writer.
What aspect of web development are you into?
I’m into both Frontend and backend development. However, I mainly work on the Frontend aspect of web development
What are the challenges you have faced as a developer and how were you able to overcome them?
I’ve faced the problem of not knowing how to navigate myself in a very overwhelming and fast-moving space such as the tech industry.
This includes knowing the relevant things to learn, how to manage one’s time, how to deal with the impostor syndrome feeling and lots more.
I’ve overcome them by joining tech communities, being active on developer-centric parts of Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and so on.
What will you do better, if you are to start all over again?
I would have focused more on building as many projects, instead of just watching courses and tutorials.
I also would have done a lot of collaborative projects with fellow learners to further improve my teamwork skills.
Any tip or hack for junior and aspiring web developers
Do not wait to have the best tools before you start. You can start learning how to code using your phone, that shitty laptop, or even someone else’s laptop. The most important thing is to START.
What does a typical day in my life as a web developer look like?
Okay, I work fully remotely, so it’s pretty boring I guess. Lol.
I wake up at about 7:30 am and set up my points for my tri-weekly standup which comes up at 9 am.
After the 30-minute-ish meeting, I head to the gym to work out for about an hour. Afterwards, I come back home, take a shower and begin my work for the day.
I typically round up work at 5pm, and I take evening strolls. At night, I do more personal learning and stuff.
